My name is Angie Sullivan; I am a native of San Diego, California. I come to the Elite Striders Track Club as Sprints and Field Events Coach with 19 years of experience in track and field. My track career began at the age of 10, participating in the Junior Olympics in elementary. I went on to run track in high school where I was ranked top 3 in the nation from 9th grade to the 12th grade in the 100m and 200m. My best time in the 100m was 11.3 and 23.8 in the 200m. I also ran the 400m, 4x100m, 4x400m, high jump, and long jump. I was the C.I.F. Champion for 4 years and finished in the top 5 at the State Championships throughout my career in high school. After graduating high school, I attended San Diego Mesa College from 1992-1995, where I also ran and was the Community College Champion for 3 years. I also was the State Champion in the 100m and 200m. Over the course of my career, I received 40+ scholarship letters from different Universities all over the United States. I chose to attend Arizona State University in 1995, on a full scholarship where I successfully finished my career. My passion and love for track and field is being able to share my experience as a coach and teach our young Elite Striders the basic techniques and fundamentals of running as well as promoting encouragement, motivation, and the love of the sport.
